NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC)
North
Florida Regional Competition
March 28-29, 2009
This
National Rifle Association sponsored competition is a multi-discipline
event for youth 12 to 18 years old (Jr. Division 12-14; Sr.
Division 15 or older). It consists of .22 rifle, muzzleloader
and shotgun marksmanship, archery proficiency as well as
written and hands-on tests of firearms safety, orienteering
and wildlife identification. The Florida Fish & Wildlife
Conservation Commission will then field a team to represent
our state at the national competition. A pre-requisite to
participate is that the youth must have successfully completed
a state certified hunter safety course. Learn

This year’s tournament will require your Troop and/or Venturing
Crew shooting sports participants to register as a 5-person team(s)
in the junior division (up to 14 years old) and/or the senior
division (15 through 18 years old). FWC will have rifles, muzzleloaders,
shotguns and bows for those participants that need them.
